1927 Lycia hirtaria (Brindled Beauty)
Geometridae, Ennominae Wingspan: 38-46mm.

A common species mainly in the central and southern parts of the UK. In Cornwall, it occurs in mid to eastern areas in established broadleaf woodland. The biggest and most prominently marked of a few similar species, and is normally unmistakable. They can occur in numbers when light trapping in their habitat.

The flight season is from early March to late May.
