1882 Pterapherapteryx sexalata (Small Seraphim)

1882 Pterapherapteryx sexalata (Small Seraphim)
Geometridae, Larentiinae - Wingspan: 18-24mm.

A small species which is locally occurring but widespread throughout the UK. In Cornwall it occurs where-ever its larval food-plant, Sallow (Salix) woodland is established.

The flight season, May to early August, is quite broad in the south, where two generations overlap, but in Cornwall, individuals can be seen in April and as late as October.
