1907 Epione repandaria (Bordered Beauty)
Geometridae, Ennominae - Wingspan: 26-32mm.
A common species throughout the UK, and evenly distributed across Cornwall, although they are rarely seen other than as a single individual. Fresh specimens when discovered, can be quite breath-takingly beautiful, and there are a number of colourful orange or yellow forms which may be found. The above picture shows the more common form.
The main flight season is July to September, but occasional individuals may also be seen in late June.
