1875 Asthena albulata (Small White Wave)

Geometridae, Larentiinae - Wingspan: 18-22mm.

This small species is common throughout the UK, but although present throughout Cornwall, it seems to occur more towards the east of the county. A beautiful little species where the distinct line patterns easily separate it from any similar sized species.

Although the UK flight season is quoted as May to early July, the Cornwall population season is wider, starting in April, and finishing in August, with occasional specimens possible in September.
