1942 Alcis jubata (Dotted Carpet)

1942 Alcis jubata (Dotted Carpet)
Geometridae, Ennominae Wingspan: 26-32mm.

A locally distributed species mainly through the west and north of the UK. In Cornwall, it is present in the centre and east of the county, and only seen occasionally. There is no problem identifying this species as it is quite distinctive with the prominent black spot in the centre of the forewings.

The flight season in the UK is reported as late June to mid September, peaking in late July, which is also followed in the Cornwall areas as well.
