1887 Lomaspilis marginata (Clouded Border)

Geometridae, Ennominae - Wingspan: 22-28mm.

A common little species throughout the UK, and widespread in Cornwall. Very pretty when fresh, and always a favourite with visitors to recording sessions, the prominent markings are unmistakable.

The main flight season in the UK is June / July, but in Cornwall, this extends from May to August, with individuals occasionally being seen in April and into October.
