Coppice Hill ~ Bradford-on-Avon

Coppice Hill ~ Bradford-on-Avon
Unfortunately it was bin collection day, or blue bags (mostly) in this case! This is the bottom and top of Coppice Hill, as featured in the TV series of Poldark.

Another nice pair of shots Rosa, both of them very well composed. The top one reminds me of the streets in Robin Hood's Bay, a small fishing villages a few miles south of Whitby.

Have a good evening, Doug

I can see what you mean about the similarities Doug. Typical workers houses in their day...not now though! Thank you for your kind comments.

Best regards, Rosa.

A wonderful street scene Rosalyn it's a shame about the modern intrusions of recycling bags and yellow lines !! they must be listed so why was the fuchsia pink door allowed, for a few pounds more the street lamps could have been in keeping instead of the bedpan style, even LED replacements would be half the size. I've put the soap box away !!! for now :)) the film company could have paid for better ones

I have noticed that many places collect the rubbish on Mondays, so next time I will choose another day. The weather was great though! I like the pink door :-) From what I have seen on Poldark, they just use the middle section of the houses. It's portrayed as the outside of the Inn they use.

Thanks Andy. What I love about the place is that it is so historic but not at all twee. It's a real living, working town.

Hi Rosa

I do like to see pictures of streets like this. Lots of different buildings from a time before the motor car. (and before rows of dirty scruffy 'social housing'...)
Shame about the dustbin men, but at least they are getting rid of their garbage responsibly!! (Unlike those who TRAVEL onwards, leaving it all behind to mess up the countryside)

Best Wishes
Peter

Hi Peter,

I always seem to choose dustbin day! Never mind, that's life as we are now :-)
I have been going to this town for years for the canal and the railway station, but only in the last few years did I find this street, which is odd because it is just off The Shambles! I am pleased you like the pic's, thank you.

Best wishes, Rosa.

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Andy Rodker club
Poldark is filmed at many NT houses in Wiltshire and Gloucestershire Andy but all the country scenes and many more are in Cornwall. They are there filming now! I like your thoughts on the bin bags ;-))
