Thank you very much for your kind comments Keith. When the sun shines the stone buildings look so beautiful. What I like is that they have an old fashion iron mongers that sell everything! We have just lost ours in Wincanton unfortunately.

One of these old Oil shops that sold everything from butter to paraffin and they always had a unique aroma about them that stated "Oil Shop". I think it is Sherringham one lives on there.

I can never resist a look around an old ironmongers Maurice. Sadly fewer and fewer exist.

A wonderful set of images Rosalyn can you alter your settings so that access is allowed if you try to view 2&3 large. Of course this type of shop closes because people don't us them, I wonder how long it will be before the shops get the cheap and tacky look.
There is nothing scenic about Leicester but there are some nice buildings if you look up so why does street level look such a mess

Thank you Peter. In the case of Clementina's in Wincanton. It had been in the same family for over 100 years and the lady who was last in line recently died. She worked in there all her life. It was so well used and greatly missed. Apparently the large shop has sold but as yet there is nothing in it. I have made pictures 2&3 available to view as PiP's :)

A really fine trio of images from Bradford-on-Avon Rosa. It looks to be an photographers paradise for architectural images. Your pictures of these wonderful old building with their shop signs etc, also tell the tale of the people who lived and worked there, and still do. The picture of the J. Alex Brown building with the reflections in those fine windows is my favourite.

Another beautiful set of photos, I wish we could have had more time in Bradford when I visited.

Thank you Gudrun. How long ago was it you visited? There is so much to see, from the canal to the riverside walks and cafes and the Saxon church, which you tried to visit!

We were there in June 2015, but only for a few hours one afternoon during a round trip.

A lot of the redevelopment had just started at that time Gudrun.

Such beautiful series of pictures which let me happily walk up and down High Street in Bradford -on -Avon.. I can really enjoy the lovely architecture and even breath ... the whole atmosphere.
