The Coffee Barn.

The Coffee Barn.
070 The Bridge Tea Rooms

....and Tea Rooms in Bradford-on-Avon.......Grade I listed. The two-gabled 17th century building which is now the Bridge Tea Rooms was previously an antique shop and, before that, the shop of the last Bradford blacksmith, Albert Lailey. It is dated 1675 and built of squared and coursed stone, with relieving arches over the ground floor windows, which are not original. The tea rooms have regularly been selected as one of the best in the country.

A great pair of architectural pictures Rosa, The light on the Coffee Barn is spot on, picking out the texture of the stonework very nicely. The Bridge Tea Rooms building is something to behold, hardly a truly straight line to be seen! Thanks for the interesting notes also.

All the best, Doug

Thank you Doug. Yes two very different buildings. The Tea Rooms is one of those buildings that you always have to take a picture of when you're in the town....a bit like the Saxon church!

All the best, Rosa.

Two very different buildings, each lovely in their own way. The pantiled roof of the Cofffee Barn is very familiar. Lots of pantiles in Fife. It looks just the place for a coffee.

Yes very different. You would feel very much at home in the Coffee Barn then Jean. The coffee there is very good.

Two superb images. The light in the image of the Coffee Barn is gorgeous and I love the warm colours too, especially in the roof tiles.

The Tea Rooms look really picturesque...........an amazing piece of architecture that has stood the test of time. Captured in fantastic detail.

Great work Rosa.

I love the beautiful warm, golden lighting of your shot of 'The Coffee Barn', Rosa. Looks like a great place to enjoy a coffee.

'The Bridge Tea Rooms' would win my vote for best in the country, just for being in such a charming building.

Cheers,

Joe

Thank you for your kind comments Joe. They served a very nice coffee in the Coffee Barn, but I have not yet been in The Bridge Tea Rooms. I think it's best to book there, but there are so many more delicious cafes in the town....it will take me a while to get around to them all. LOL! Cheers, Rosa.

The Coffee Barn is next to the Tithe Barn between the town and the canal, so not very far.

Beautiful old buildings, Rosa.. I love the cosy charm of the coffee barn and the elegance of the tea rooms. I am sure that tea and coffee would taste more better in wonderful surroundings like this. Modern coffee shops have their place but I love the timeless feel of places like this. The hustle and bustle of life stops for a short while, - much more enjoyable and relaxing

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Ecobird club
That is a good way of describing the two buildings Carol, thank you. You are right about this being more relaxing than the modern coffee shops...you can actually hear one another speak.
