This was a former rubber works in Bradford-on-Avon. One PiP. Also a link to more information about the redevelopment.

Very interesting together with the PiP. It's nice if places like this find a new destination !

It's good to see the old building brought back into use, hopefully the lack of people is not normal !!! I hope you are enjoying a lovely sunny day and finding interesting things to do, Thank you for altering the settings

I was very pleased to see the new area too Peter. I think a lot of smaller towns in that area close on a Monday. We found that when visiting Frome. I am enjoying the sunshine but you would not believe the day I've had! A bit of a rest tomorrow I hope.

Another fine street with this old building looking good in its new life. The PiP is a little gem by the way and certainly adds another dimension to the main picture.

All the best, Doug

It has really brought that part of the town back to life Doug. It is fairly central and traffic free. I did investigate the covered area in the PiP and it takes you back to the hardware store in the High Street.
Best wishes, Rosa.

It is traffic free Gudrun and all beautifully restored. The area had been derelict for a few years and probably when you visited the town. The area by the town bridge is lively and quirky now.
Thanks for all your lovely comments.

wonderful composition of a lovely British city corner so perfectly captured in all its atmosphere. I love when old buildings are recovered, restored and redeveloped so that you can be lived and enjoyed daily by the inhabitants and anyone coming there!
Enjoy your evening Rosa.

Thank you so much Bea. I was amazed to see the area restored so beautifully. It used have lots of woollen mills as well as the rubber works. You are right, it will be a big boost to the town and its many visitors.
My best wishes to you.

This is a smashing image.................and doesn't the area look much better than it did? The image in the PiP is gorgeous. I really like the warm lighting. Well observed and taken Rosa.

I often see stuff on the news about the "demise of the High Street" and I think this is a great example of what needs to be done to avoid that...........it's not all about shopping..!!

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Keith Burton club
Even when the woollen mills were not in use they looked quite nice but now with them converted to living accommodation and retail they look great. The mills where the rubber works were had that unloved and derelict look, so I was delighted to see the whole area looking so beautiful.

I do notice, and I'm sure you do too, how many coffee and teas shops have popped up in High Streets. What I really miss is BHS. I feel so angry at how the owners treated the company and all their employees.
Thank you very much for your interesting and kind comments Keith.

If I visited here, Rosa, I think I would end up with caffeine poisoning. I love the angle from which you have taken the photo. The receding sizes of the shop windows is very effective.

In the PiP, I love the beautifully atmospheric lighting.

Cheers,

Joe

This really shows how old buildings can be transformed into community assets. I'm sure that area must become a buzzing social centre from time to time.

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to tiabunna club
For a time it was obvious that these buildings would decay if left empty much longer, so I was very pleased to see the developments. With housing, businesses and walkways along the river it is now an asset to the town.

Yes I agree Roger. It still keeps the history of the town alive and I like the names associated with the past industries of this town.
