The thumbnail especially, but the shot itself, loos like a simplification of our flag to me. Probably not to you - cultural differences. I don't think of the colors as your usual palette - a bit warmer and more subdued.

Oavlov may also play a role here, Bob. If I see a Swiss flag -- even in Switzerland -- hanging on a day with no wind I mistake it for a Canadian one.

Um, Pavlov. Sorry.

Oddly enough, I rarely mistake a Canadian flag for a Swiss flag. But now that I mention it, I see the resemblance. Another thing the Canadians and the Swiss have in common, along with an understated sense of humor and, of course, curling and cleanliness (look at that spotless floor!)

And hockey. The Swiss are getting really good at that. Their improvement in recent years has been remarkable. Near you the San Jose Sharks have Timo Meier, a former star with Rapperswil-Jona juniors.

Looks so simple and elegant but the reflections add complexity together with the light and shade. Made me think of Scottish plaid for some reason.

Plaid makes sense to me, Jean. This place looks different every time you go through it.

A great composition, with the strong horizontal lines at the back and radiating foreground lines, plus the strong colours.

I do love the brown and gold colours, but for me it's the light and reflections that make this a really lovely image. I especially like the way the little yellow warning sign fills the small bit of empty space on the left hand side.

Great job John!

Thanks, Keith. As I mentioned to Jean, this place (this shot was taken from the atrium) looks different every time you go through it.

The light/shade, stripe/plain and colours are interesting JOHN!

Thanks, Diana. The light and shade are different every time you go through the atrium, too. What comes of having the atrium designed by someone who's both an architect and an engineer.

The yellow caution sign adds a comical note to this superb photo. I guess it says, "Hey, I just vacuumed here, take your shoes off!"

Thanks, DIane. That would probably be a good idea. The amount of marble in office buildings downtown is astounding. You'd think people in high heels or plain leather soles would be slipping and falling all the time.
