The couple on the crossing are enjoying their conversation. Snow piled up everywhere but it looks like an ordinary day.

Like much of North America, Jean, Toronto gets a wide range of weather, so you learn to cope with it all. After its failure to deal with the Blizzard of 1999, Toronto has made sure it's prepared for large snowfalls, too.

The sky is beautiful.....makes it look less cold!

You get dazzling light, too, Diana. The water in the air freezes and falls to the ground as snow, so there's no haze. The snow is also highly reflective, so you can feel overwhelmed by light. Same as the desert, I suppose.

Eventually the snow will get grey from traffic, kiiti. It's always pretty when it has just fallen, though.

A super street image John...............despite the sunshine, it's obviously freezing cold as evidenced by the clothing the pair on the crossing are wearing and the remnants of the last snowfall.

Given the weather............I love the irony of the street name :-))

It's usually clear when it's cold, Keith -- there's no water left in the air to make clouds.

I tried to find out why it's called Nassau Street, but no luck. There was never any great Dutch presence here.

I saw your title and thought ... that can't possibly be The Bahamas!!

It's the real Nassau, Andy. To me, anyway. I've been to this Nassau over and over again, but for all I know the Bahamas are just a myth.
