End of the Road

End of the Road
It was almost the end of the road for the person who thought it was a good idea to take a mobility scooter onto the beach in Burnham-on-Sea. Picture in PiP. Luckily she was spotted by the lifeguard patrol and soon rescued.

There are many signs telling of the dangers of the sea at low tide. Check the tide times. Red flags displayed on Burnham-on-Sea's main beach mean that it is unsafe to enter the sea.

It could have Günter. It is quite a dangerous beach with sinking sand and mud when the tide is out. There are enough warnings. The beach runs along the mouth of the River Parrett. It's a great place as long as people take note of the dangers.

Thank you so much for your kind comments and I wish you a good Wednesday, Rosa.

Even walking near the tide line at Burnham can be risky, and I find it incredible anyone would take a mobility scooter to the beach, especially with all the warning signs that are in place,
However, nice reporting and superb pair of images Rosa

You are right Roger there are a lot of signs and red flags. They even make announcements about the tide. It was very close but windy yesterday, but Sophie had a great time and we had a good lunch. Thank you for your kind comments.

The person in the mobility scooter was incredibly lucky that the Coastguard was on hand..!! Even being knocked off into the sea could have been fatal. As it is, I'm not sure a battery operated scooter and salt water is a good mix. A nice piece reportage Rosa.

I like the photo of the cyclist............the light is lovely, especially on the surface of the water and the wet sand. Very nicely captured!

I noticed she was on her mobile, so probably reporting to a family member how stupid she was! There were people ready to help but the coastguard sorted it out. It's well known that it's a dangerous coastline and there are plenty of signs and red flags.

I am pleased you like the main picture. The sky was not good for photos or the colour of the water! Thank you very much for your kind comments.

We all should never joke with the sea, the mountains, and even quite simply nature! These photos perfectly illustrate the potential dangers that can be encountered!!!!
That said, long live the walks at sea or in the mountains....but with discernment!!!!!!!
Enjoy your evening****************

Two excellent photos Rosa and good for us you were on hand to capture this person's foolhardy actions. They were extremely lucky to have survived this, thanks to prompt action by the lifeguards, but it does put them at risk also. It is an all too common occurence on this stetch of the coast but I am pleased it ended well, and you were able to enjoy your day with Sophie.

She was very lucky Carol. I know many take their cars on Brean Sands, but I would never trust it...we've all seen cars being brought out of the sea on the local news!!
We had a great day out with Sophie. She's always good fun and never complains, bless her.

Hi Rosa
A very nice pair of pictures, which I like very much!
Some people are so stupid!!
You have made a great story to illustrate this little incident. I am sure there must be a forum somewhere to post a picture of the guy in the mobility scooter. It is worthy of a prize!
Best Wishes, HWW, a nice week, and stay safe!!

I don't think I will embarrass the woman further by sharing it on a forum :-)
Hopefully she will never try it again.
All the best,
Rosa.

Hay gente para todo, para leer recostada fuera de la ventana o para darse un baño scooter.
En alguna ocasión se han bañado a personas con movilidad reducida acompañadas con monitores y con demanda previa.

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to José Manuel Polo club
They wouldn't want to bathe in these waters as it is the coastline on the Bristol Channel and there is the danger of sinking sand when the tide is out.

It is true one should not play with the tides.
Furthermore with that machine.
Sometimes I don't understand what goes on in their mind ?
Not enough imagination ?
Or plain and simple crazy minds ?

It's a dangerous coastline when the tide is out Jose.
It's along the Bristol Channel with sinking sand.
I hope a lesson has been learnt by this person.
