Hamble, Hampshire.

After attending the very moving funeral in Portsmouth, of our lifelong friend and husband of my Godmother (in PiP if you wish to look) we made a slight detour to Hamble on the way home, for a quiet walk and cup of tea.

Hamble, or to give it its full name, Hamble-le-Rice is in the borough of Eastleigh, and lies along the River Hamble and has stunning views. There is a ferry which operates daily to neighbouring Warsash, allowing people to easily cross between these two locations. Warsash is also an important maritime location. It is home to Southampton Solent University's 'Maritime Academy' providing training for merchant seamen, a sailing club, restaurants, pubs and shops.
