This is really lovely Rosa................such elegant birds and I like the way you've captured that in this collage. The way the neck of the swan curves is so beautiful. I especially like the image bottom right ;-)

I like the PiP as well..........the swan looks as if it's warning the geese off..........no contest really!

Thank you Herb. I've only had the 'but' once, when I had my dog with me, which the swan took offence at! It was probably just being protective of the young cygnets....I did run though ;-))

We have seen male swans killing young ducks ruthlessly Rosa. One over-protective swan slaughtered six of seven duck chicks for swimming too close to the swan nest. Since then I have seen swans in a different light. Sorry!

A wonderful set of images Rosalyn it's amazing how flexible their necks are, they seem to favour some pools, Groby Pool usually has lots of them but Melbourne South Derbyshire only has one or two, it's probably to do with food the canal in Leicester has plenty waiting for people to feed them

Amelia ^club

The swan looks so coy. Rosa. There is a shortage of swans and birds in general around here. We wonder if the population has been decimated by bird flu. Earlier in the year we watched a pair of swans get together in a local wildlife area, but they haven't produced cygnets. We do see sme ducks, but o ducklings so far.
