Interesting splashes of color among the blues and beiges and grays. And the red arrow telling us to look down but it isn't precise - one has to look a bit left for the equally red scarf. Would do well with a painterly effect.

Thanks, Bob. I hadn't thought about the red sign being an arrow because to me it's the iconic Canadian Tire sign. It's so iconic they don't even have to put their name on it. So thanks for pointing out that it is an arrow -- that idea was probably lurking in my unconscious when I took the shot but I wasn't aware of it till you pointed it out. It really does ehlp explain the composition.

Thank you very much, Marko. Photography can teach you a lot about your unconscious. The New York School in general seems to have influenced me a lot, probably because of its dominance in the 50s and 60s, when good photography was everywhere, and the New York School was heavily represented in the press. I think people of my (ancient) age were heavily influenced in their youth, whether they were aware of it or not, by Cartier-Bresson and the tradition of American straight photography going back to Paul Strand.

So thanks again for pointing this out to me and increasing my understanding of what Ièm doing.

Thanks, Jean. The pink sign kept changing colours, but pink seemed to be the best choice.

Yes, I also saw the red sign as an arrow pointing downwards - I'd have thought to the bus shelter.

It's actually the sign of a store that sells most things under the sun, George. A good place to pick up a canoe on your lunch hour. Or some dog food.
