I must say that the fellow with a cigarette has a purposeful stride. And there will soon be some sungurnt heads.The first nice weather and nobody thinks of caps. I don';t.

We're a purposeful lot here, Bob. Except the hockey team. Your observation about caps reminded me of another spring phenomenon, which you probably see in MN, too -- no one's too sure how many clothes they should be wearing.

The web of wires overhead, but everyone is looking at the ground. Yet another visual metaphor for modern live, perhaps.

Is there such a thing as modern life? I sometimes wonder, Sarah. There must be a reason about why zombie stories are so popular these days -- maybe everyone has had their brains sucked out and replaced by a Facebook feed.

A smashing street candid shot John. The trend in England is to bury wires and cables etc., so overhead cables like this really catch me eye.

Thanks, Keith. The problem with burying them here is that the ground freezes in winter. The water lines are buried, and I was woken one morning at 4 am by jackhammers being used to get to a break in the water line in front of my building. So I'm quite happy the wires and cables are above ground. You can get used to the sound of a cherry-picker.

This intersection is particularly web-like because it's a streetcar/tram intersection. There are more spectacular streetcar intersections, but I have yet to succeed in capturing them interestingly.

A busy city scene.

Torontonians are a busy people, George. Years ago I read an article in a Montreal magazine that quoted someone who said that Toronto's three guiding values were money, work, and the law. And I was thinking "Is there something wrong with that?"

Haha - I like that quote! This colorful and active scene makes me happy.

Thanks, Diane. I've decided to hunt for colourful places in Toronto. At first I wasn't thrilled by the yellow paint job on the shawarma place, but I now realize how much it adds to the intersection.
