Sad present

Sad present
The raging bushfires destroyed almost half the little village of Mogo, mainly consisting of a series of old, mainly timber, shops selling into the coastal tourist market. This was a second-hand bookshop (see also note).

Gudrun, SOUL7, Rrrolf, and 20 other people have particularly liked this photo

The sign is sadly appropriate. I hope this is a wake up call to the world and we all start to take the necessary swift action.

Very sad to see such things George. A life-times business gone as easily as that! At least I presume that the owners were all unharmed. Hope all is over soon.

It looks so forlorn, George. So glad the Zoo managed to save all the animals.
So glad you are safe.

It’s so weird, that sign looks completely untouched in the middle of the devastation.
I can’t imagine what all you Aussies are going through. Stay safe and strong.

Many thanks, everyone, for your kind comments and stars for these images. I'm very glad to report that there has been some rain in the past few days and that the stores in Mogo are beginning to trade again, albeit some from tents as temporary premises.
