The Air We Breathe.

The Air We Breathe.
Sculpture in Lister Gardens, Lyme Regis.

For translation, words from the sculpture ~ I wanted to highlight the importance of trees, for air and life, by showing the clear structural similarities in our lungs and the branches of a tree. By Brendon Murless.

A black tulip also in Lister Gardens at Lyme Regis.

I like the comparison Rosalyn and yes Lungs are the tree of life, I also managed to create a black tulip with the aid of "Photoshop" :-)).

There were many sculptures in the gardens Maurice, but this was my favourite.
My camera seems to give the tulip more colour than can be seen with the eye!
Thanks for your kind comments.

Oh I made that sound bad Didn't I, Sorry. I think at Oxborough Hall or Blickling Hall in Norfolk they Grow tulips and they do produce some very close to what is in your PIP and they refer to them as a Black Tulip.

You didn't make it sound bad...I understood what you meant :-) There are no truly black flowers but I do find the dark ones with just a hint of colour so fascinating, but my camera picks up the touch of colour more than I want it to.

It's a great sculpture but in a way a strange choice a real tree would have helped to improve the air that we breathe, you would be very wealthy if you could grow a true black one !!! they are sometimes offered for sale paired with pink ones.https://www.youtube.com/watch?https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HydvceA1PAI

He is a very talented sculptor Peter. I like so much of his work. You wouldn't believe the tree planting going on around here! So good to see. Unfortunately I cannot access the link you left.

In my imagination, branches are like arms, but it doesn't matter ! I approve the sense of the words, clear air is important not only for the human life, but for the health of our planet, too !
all the best

Never thought about this comparison between the internal structure of our lungs and that of the branches of a tree, amazing. It certainly makes you think about the words on the sign.
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Doug Shepherd club
I hadn't either Doug, but seeing the sculpture I understand what he means. About time we all thought about the world we will leave behind. Some hard changes will have to be made I think.
Thank you for your thoughtful comments. Best regards, Rosa.

A beautiful sculpture with a great message, too often forgotten, considering the climate crisis of our poor planet ... I like the way you composed the image and of course, the black tulip in the PiP!
Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Adele club
Thank you so much Adele. The first one I took was from the opposite direction and it didn't show up well enough, so I tried it against the sky. We will have to make some tough decisions on climate change! After all, a certain president does not believe in it :-(
I am pleased you like the tulip :-)

Hi Rosa,

I do like this tree, so happily waving its branches around!!
I see how the fractal geometry of the tree mirrors our lungs. Nice relationship!
And of course we must do something about the environment, either we volunterily go back to living in caves, or soon we will have no choice!!

Best Wishes, and a good weekend
Peter

Hi Peter,

I am pleased you like this sculpture as well. You describe it very well.
I am hoping we can do something before having to go back to the cave....I like my house. ;-))

Best wishes,
Rosa.
