It's easy to understand, Gudrun. Just follow these rules:

You have two sides, one out in the field and one in.

Each man that’s in the side that’s in goes out, and when he’s out he comes in and the next man goes in until he’s out.

When they are all out, the side that’s out comes in and the side that’s been in goes out and tries to get those coming in, out.

Sometimes you get men still in and not out.

When a man goes out to go in, the men who are out try to get him out, and when he is out he goes in and the next man in goes out and goes in.

There are two men called umpires who stay out all the time and they decide when the men who are in are out.

When both sides have been in and all the men are out, and both sides have been out twice after all the men have been in, including those who are not out, that is the end of the game. ;-)

Haha, now I understand less than before;-) You probably have to be a native of a Commonweath country to get it;-)

The Aussies annihilated the English team in the test cricket, Steve, but England have done well in the one day matches - apparently. I don't watch or listen to the game at all, but I used to enjoy going to village cricket matches with my dad, and sitting on the grass having a picnic. ;-)

The PiP is of a rather horrible plastic trophy that I won in a Petanque match, Tanja. It's now back in the cupboard where it belongs.

Adrian was listening to the radio commentary, so I clattered about pretending to clear the breakfast dishes to make him lean closer to hear. He didn't know I had my camera to hand. ;-)

Very good light. What comes to cricket, that is almost completely unknown sports around here.

Just read the rules I posted for Gudrun and you're sure to understand the game, Sami. ;-)
I wonder if you play Petanque? There are a few clubs in Finland. We used to have 3 pistes behind our local pub, but the land has been sold off and is awaiting planning permission for building 2 homes.

Good result!
I have to get the results from the internet. No BBC here in Spain - licencing issues! So, apart from real ale, what I miss most in Spain is Test Match Special!
Amelia club has replied to Andy Rodker club
The only reason I know the result is because I looked it up on the Internet, Andy. I'm not keen on sport, but I love listening to cricket when Henry Blofeld is the commentator. It's such a shame he has retired. I hate it when Geoffrey Boycott buts in though.

I was hard listening to the Test matches in Australia Amelia!!
Much easier looking at your pic's here! Who decides on the subjects for your Sunday challenges?
Amelia club has replied to Rosalyn Hilborne club
It's usually up to the administrators of the group:
www.ipernity.com/group/305069
And it's to one of them that you can apply to join, Rosa.
But they have suggestions lists as well. If you got to the group tomorrow, you should be able to see what next Sunday's challenge is, and you'll have all week to think about it. n I won't be joining in next weekend. We'll be offline.

Member suggestions are always welcome as we rely on them for inspiration. :) As for who to ask about joining, that would be Shuttering Yukon (Wendi) :)

I can claim no credit for the cricket rules, Chris. I got them from a website by Mel Carson, although I believe the original was by Lesley Crowther.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Amelia club
Lesley Crowther? Of Crackerjack fame? No idea he was good at this sort of thing, nor that he had such an intimate knowledge of cricket. He must have been a member of The Lords Taverners!
