Our frangipanni

Our frangipanni
It takes until New Year, but the frangipanni do finally flower here even if they are much later than further north. Be a devil, click on the image to view it large. :-)

WELCOME BACK GEORGE! :) I am sure you had a lovely anniversary celebration, just as it should be. :)

Your picture...*swoon*...it's just GORGEOUS! Those flowers are so incredibly beautiful with their graduated lemony centers and wonderfully shaped petals However, the blossoms aren't all there is to love in this image. These plants are totally spectacular. A macro leaf study would be a grand adventure with light and translucence, pattern and texture. You have shown how lovely the bokeh becomes too. Really gorgeous all around. And your light vignette gives a romantic feel to this image that lends itself to remembering why you have been gone. Happy Anniversary, George!

Thank you for your wonderful comments on my berry image! :) I'm so glad you enjoyed it and my insets.

Re: the conversation about photography and your specific remarks about media suggesting that photographers don't look closely at things. I think you nailed it with your thoughts. YES, happy snappers take pictures like mad, with the thought of looking at them later to actually LOOK at what they were taking pictures of. Just think about all the times you see this everywhere you go these days. It's really crazy. Watch. A person will come to a place and immediately aim their phone or point and shoot, take a picture and immediately move on. Out of sight, out of mind. Steve and I went to France last April and it's the first trip abroad for many years. We couldn't even believe the normalcy of this act. People really DON'T see. They just aim, take a picture and leave. So yes, the media IS right in that sense. But like you say, they are HAPPY SNAPPERS. A true photographer--or a Happy Snapper who is transitioning--actually looks at the subject. And the more we are immersed in our passion, the more we assess! :)

Such fun to chat with you, so glad you are back!! :)

Thank you for all your very kind comments and favourites for this image. The 85mm f2.0 lens gives lovely bokeh and I thought this was the ideal subject for it.
