Tingha Town Hall

Tingha Town Hall
What more can I say about the imposing Tingha Town Hall across the way? Taken from outside the Royal Hotel (see PiP).

Two really great pictures from super angles. I love them both. I also noticed the fire danger sign -- we have the same sort here! Only it's spring at the moment so zero danger!

Love the cars, they are so cool, George. :)

Thank you very much, Janet. Those fire danger signs are really useful to reinforce the need for care. Still in a major drought over here, but with the cooler months coming on the fire risk is decreasing and the brigades are able to do some 'controlled burning' to minimise risks. I didn't get photos as we drove in, but there was a massive fire right through the district back in February. Thousands of hectares of farms and forests went up, plus numerous houses. I gather the brigades worked hard to save a fairly small area around the township and were helped by the fact that the area had been so heavily grazed by stock. The cars don't just look good, they're a lot of fun too. :-)

By the way, I asked in my comment which car might be yours...and then I couldn't wait so I looked in your albums and FOUND IT!!! Your Renault is so pretty, George! What fun to have an old classic to show off to the world, and to be part of a group of other enthusiasts. I love it! :)

Oh, I forgot to mention, ty for the visit and YES having a camper van is soooooo advantageous for getting into places too small for others. More opportunities for you, which is so nice. But on the other hand...showers and bathrooms. Just sayin! :D I love both concepts, they merely need different mindsets to embrace! :)

Thanks very much, Janet. We really enjoy camping and would still use a tent - if only the ground wasn't further down every year. :-) That's why we moved up to our little camper, but we haven't even used that for too long: maybe later this year with a little luck.

Thank you, Dimas. Yes, we are fortunate to have the little 4CVs here, this was part of the national gathering we hold every two years.

What are those adorable little cars?
tiabunna club has replied to Diane Putnam club
These are Renault 4CVs, Diane. They became the first million selling French car and came out just after the war. They were designed to be very frugal and to carry four people - the average motorcycle has a larger engine (these were 750cc). Good fun to drive though. :-)
