The Explorer and The World

The Explorer and The World
Different ways to go cruising, either by "Explorer' pontoon, or "The World". Maybe the wallet size determines the choice! "The World" is the largest private residential cruise vessel, with 165 residential apartments. It called into our little Bay for a one-day visit.

Explored. :-)

We have seen 'The World' in port in Stavanger, George. She dwarfed the local buildings, and very few guests got off to look around the city. A monstrosity in my opinion, and I rather go for a short cruise in the Explorer. But then - I am a Scot. :-)

I much prefer the inflatable raft and it has nothing to do with the price of the cruise.

Lovely shot George, I watched a programme on the World and it's not a lifestyle for me at all.

To each their own. Calmac Ferries are big enough for me. I saw the World at Ullapool while waiting for a ferry. The inflatable looks a lot more fun.

Little and large here, George. I guess you don't have to dress for dinner on the Explorer.
Happy new year to you.

Those gigantic cruise ships look so top-heavy it's amazing they can venture out of the harbor! ;) Presumably there's an enormous keel--

I remember reading about this .... seems it could be a lovely thing to do if you have
the money and also if the ship is safe in every respect ... what is safe these days ?
very little it would seem ...!
