Canberra - Australia's Capital City

Canberra - Australia's Capital City
View from the lookout on Mt Ainslie across Canberra, Australia's beautiful capital city. In the middle distance is the Australian War Memorial, with Anzac Parade leading from it toward Lake Burley Griffin and, further, toward the old and new Parliament House buildings. The main city centre is to the right. Best viewed on black.

I thought real hard about the ANU for grad school--a professor there wanted me to come work for him--but I ended up going to SUNY Stony Brook on Long Island instead. It was _almost_ as far away from where I was living ;) So, still haven't been to Australia, alas--
