This little township has sprung up at a road intersection in central Laos. It felt very much a "frontier" town. As can be seen, the streets remain unsealed and motor scooters are particularly popular. Second image in note. Best viewed large.

Explored.

Excellent composition, George. It's stunning in the full-screen view -- long and deep.

Many thanks for all your comments on this shot. Laos is a very low income developing country, so motor scooters and mobile phones are luxury items for most people. The mobile phone network is fairly new, but I suspect the satellite dishes are for a previous satellite communications system set up in the days of Russian influence (post the end of the war) rather than for TV.

It seems as if scooters are going to be a big part of life in Laos, George. I'm glad you've explained the satellite dishes; they look incongruous on the tops of such basic stalls.
