This is jaw-dropping scenery, Gudrun. I love the UK, but I don't think the country can compete with such magnificent grandeur.

Thank you so much, Amelia! The UK is beautiful but much more "civilized" than Iceland which after all is the youngest country in the world, geologically speaking. Iceland has a certain stark beauty and vast unpopulated spaces.

An outstanding series of wild and dramatic images.............I love the earthy colours in the landscape and especially the green of the mosses and other little plants around the waterfall.

You've captured the power and the beauty of the water just perfectly and I like the patterns it makes as it drops into the the canyon.

Thank you so much, Keith! There are so many great waterfalls in Iceland, even the nameless ones are gorgeous:-) The mosses are very typical of the southern highlands, in dry weather they turn a silvery-grey colour, after lots of rain they are green.

So dramatic and beautiful Gudrun. I love the sound of waterfalls! I feel I can almost hear them looking at this superb series! The first PiP is amazing!!!!

Herzlichen Dank, Berny! Der liegt an der F-Piste zum Laki, da darfst du mit kleinem Miet-4x4 nicht mehr hin...

Mit dem Nissan Patrol, den wir das letzte mal hatten, müsste das schon noch gehen, oder?

Könnte gehen, kommt aber wohl auf die Mietwagenfirma an.Es war jedenfalls dieses Jahr auf den Pisten wesentlich ruhiger als ich es bisher kannte. Vor allem die Sprengisandur war wohltuend leer;-)
