Thank you so much, Esther! It wasn't that big... They break off from the glacier, then swim around in rhe lagoon for a bit where they start to melt or break apart until finally they drift out to sea with the tide.

Thanks a ot, Gillian! I was on the beach:-) The bergs come from a glacier which calves into a lagoon and this is connected to the sea via a short stream. The bergs drift out with the tides and melt in the sea.

Herzlichen Dank für all die Sternderl, Alex! Wir waren auf der anderen Seite, da ging's! Sind dann auch unter der Brücke durchgelaufen und am südwestlichen Ufer die Moräne lang, da waren kaum Touristen, aber viele Robben;-)

Wenn man weiß wo, findet man selbst an den überlaufensten Orten noch rihige Ecken:-) Mit den Robben hatten wir Glück, da haben vermutlich die Gezeiten gepasst, denn die schwimmen ja gerne mit Ebbe und Flut in den See/aus dem See.
