Vielen Dank, Udo! Das war 2014, inzwischen sind leider mehr Zäune wegen der idiotischen Touris, die keinen gesunden Menschenverstand an den Tag legen... Manche Nationen klagen gerne auf Schadenersatz, wenn bloss ein Schild mit 100 Grad dasteht und nichts abgezäunt ist.;-)

Keith Burton ^club

Amazing and unusual scenery Gudrun. I like the volcanic rock formation and the colour palette. I think Edna is right.........apart from the snow capped mountains in the distance the landscape is very desert-like.

I spotted that pointless fence too. Enjoy the rest of your day and have a good weekend.

Thanks a lot, Keith! Actually, it does rain quite a bit over there;-) But I agree, the impression is one of aridity:-)

I'm flying next Tuesday which will hopefully be not as busy as the weekend and I hope my bag will arrive with me. I'll take the rain gear in hand luggage, just to be on the safe side.... Icelandair allow 10kg:-)

I think I might have spotted a fence that may or may not be electrified. It looks very arid here, Gudrun, almost like here in England until today when we have had two very heavy cloudbursts. The garden plants will perk up soon - I hope.

Thanks very much, Amelia! It wasn't electified, just a reminder that you shouldn't go any further. In 2014 they still relied on people's common sense.
The aridity is from minerals in the volcanic soil, not from lack of rain.
I hope your garden will recover soon! Here it feels hotter than ever because of the humidity in the air, can't wait to escape!
