Three in a row, For Pam!!

Three in a row, For Pam!!
Shetland ponies on Treaga Hill, Ralph's Cupboard, Portreath.

There has been debate here and on Pano as to whether these are actually Shetland ponies with many members saying they are far too big. But all the literature, online info, signposts and notice boards say that they are and for want of any better evidence, that is what I will continue to call them.
Maybe the rich Cornish grassland has fattened them up a treat!

Arlequin Photographie, , micritter, Marco F. Delminho and 45 other people have particularly liked this photo

Thank you Peggy!
You were so quick, I hadn't even finished my dedication to Pam!!!
I'm still not 100% sure they are Shetland ponies but all the evidence suggests that they are! Cute, whatever they are correctly called!!
Best wishes,
Andy

This is so cute, Andy.

I had a Shetland pony when I was a kid and they look small enough to me but I'm no expert.

... ponies or horses, no matter, they line up to make a nice shot ... three "equines" receding en-echelon:nice ...

Are these ponies feral/wild? On Assateague barrier island, south of Delaware, there are herds of wild "ponies" descended from survivors of shipwrecked Spanish ships hundreds of years ago.

Thank you, Wally.
Introduced about 10 years ago as self-funding industrial lawn mowers!
They are ponies, Wally and I believe they are Shetland ponies but many pano and now iper members are convinced otherwise. As Nick says, all the authorities and all the Cornwall County publicity refers to Shetland ponies. I agree they do look much smaller on the Shetland Islands themselves!!!

Oh Pam will love these Andy and so do I. Stocky though they are (from some good grazing) they are just wonderful to see with cliffs and the sea behind them. Bravo!!!
Andy Rodker club has replied to Clickity Click
They are much larger than the Shetland ponies you find on the Shetland Islands themselves, Chris and it can only be due to the good grazing, as you say!!

Well the National Trust believe that they are Shetland Ponies grazing on their land Andy
5 years ago.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Nick Weall club
A good link, thanks Nick! These ponies are rounded up and taken to where grazing is needed, sometimes, here at The Knaovocks, Godrevy, sometimes at St Agnes Head, etc etc, but always within the same area of outstanding natural Beauty, the Godrevy, North Cliffs and St Agnes coastline.
And yes. They are Shetland ponies and I have been saying this till I am blue in the face these past 6 years!
