Not having a dedicated macro lens, I focused in to these flowers as closely as I could.
The PiP shows the blossom in the whole frame.

Well, macro without a macro lens on DSLR needs a bit of subterfuge;-) It's easier to do with a small compact camera.

Shropshire is usually one of the coldest of the English counties, Doug; but Thursday was actually warm and very sunny. It's been dull since, and now it's raining.

I had the camera setting on the automatic macro, Paul, but sometimes that is next to useless. The best camera I had for macro photography was my (now wrecked) Nikon D40.

It definitely isn't apple blossom, Wierd, but I'm not quite sure what it is. Maybe something like damson. I thought it was blackthorn at first sight, but the colour of the bark was too light and there were no thorns.
