Not the Sunday Challenge. Winebottles at Wroxeter Roman Vineyard

Not the Sunday Challenge. Winebottles at Wroxeter Roman Vineyard
Couldn't use these bottle for this Sunday's TSC as the photos were taken 6 years ago. But the challenge made me search through my archives this week, and organise them better.

Jim Croce ~ Time In A Bottle

Ian Wood, Valfal, Karen's Place, Lebojo and 28 other people have particularly liked this photo

To be honest Amelia the occasional dip into the archives is allowed, especially when the shot is this good. Still it makes a welcome addition to the NTSC group! :)

Loving the colour version in the Notes too! ;)

Well - if I'd known that I could have finished the book I've just read a couple of hours earlier Paul. ;-)

Didn't sample the wine either in the white bottles or the green ones. I guess Shropshire weather might be a bit on the wet side to give the grapes a chance.

Lovely shot. Wouldn't mind sampling when they're filled.

I think you's be better staying with the Californian wined, Ron. I have tasted Wroxeter wine - it's expensive and not to my liking! ;-)

beautiful capture even in green but better in b/w ';-)

The green bottles are green and the clear bottles have always been clear, Hubs, although I took the very small amount of colour out.

I would have to be a bit mad to drink any of the wine from this vineyard. The British haven't got the secret! ;-).

... both the B/W version and the PIP color version are splendid photographic work (nay: artistry) ...

... the repetitive alternating hues in the color photograph deserve a "Favorite" on their own merit ...

The bottles are kept in separate crates, Wally, So I didn't co much in the way of editing at all, just removing a bit of colour from the crate of clear bottles. I like the different shades of green on the coloured bottles too

I like both versions..............but this B/W version is just marvellous. It has lovely mono tones and I especially like the distorted light and shadows in the glass. Outstanding..!!

I think the glass distortions show up better in the clear glass version too, Keith. The crates were a photographer's dream. I didn't even have to change the angles.
I have photos of the vineyard too, but they're pretty boring really. ;-)

I'm not too unhappy about that, John. have you ever tasted Wroxeter wine? ;-)

Both shots are really good, but the clear bottles are my favourite. They have wonderful reflections and distortions!
Yes, it's a pity about archives;-) I often have a much better suited photo which I cannot use. Sometimes the weather in the challenge week just doesn't allow for the photos I would wish to take.
Amelia club has replied to Gudrun club
I love the distortions, in the clear bottles too, Gudrun. That is missing in the green ones, although they have their charm. According to Paul one can add archives to TSC, but there were plenty of other photos I could catch on the day.
Gudrun club has replied to Amelia club
But archives are very much frowned upon;-) You can use them when you have been absolutely unable to take a shot during the week...

Thank you, Judith. TSC made me think, and I remembered the day we visited Wroxeter vineyards. The photos have never seen the light of day before.

I think it may have been you who sent the imitation to the "Refraction" group, which I have accepted. Someone sent me an invitation to "The Great British Coast" . I think that might have been a mistake. ;-)

No cropping here, Stoker, just straight from the can, with the colour removed. I'm delighted that you liked the effect.

Beautiful B&W. I love all the irregularities in the bottles.

Yes the irregularities cause some lovely refraction patterns, Jean. We have a couple of old windows left in our house that have the same effect.

I choose Australian wine over English wine any day, George. There are a few vineyards in the UK, but the weather conditions are better for whisky production. ;-)

German Riesling is my decision:) But a Single Malt (my Fav: Tobermory) is great!!!! Best regards, karl

Definitely a better choice, Karl. I am a Scot, but I don't like whisky at all. ;-)
