HFF to you and yours, George. I'm intrigued as to how these seemingly flimsy fences would stem an avalanche. Are they stronger than they look, or are avalanches merely sound and fury, signifying nothing? Enquiring minds would love to know.

They are at quite an angle and would be pretty effective I think. However I think I would plant more trees. They make a great photo with the houses dwarfed by the mountain.

Many thanks, everyone, for your kind comments on this image. Yes, I'd agree with many of you that living below that hillside, even with the fences, would be a little concerning. Maybe I'll post some others later from this trip.
