Cheap Street ~ Frome

Curiosity Street, I would be compelled to wander down there, all individual private businesses no doubt.

A fantastic cake shop down there Maurice :) Yes, almost all independent shops. I think there is a Boot's Opticians though!

Convenient but not true Adele ;o) There is a great book shop in the street and there was a vinyl record shop, but it was so successful that they have moved to larger premises....My brother's favourite shop! Thank you for your kind comments. Have a good day.

I'd love to wander down this street, searching for something really unusual, which I'm sure I'd find. I love the stone paving and the drainage gully in the centre of the street.

You would definitely find something Amelia. A good job most of the shops were closed on this visit...just window shopping for me :) The leat carries water from a stream beneath the church just up the road. Not sure where it goes after that though!

I love these old medieval style streets with the close together buildings and no cars! This looks to be a splendid example, although as others have intimated, I bet nothing is cheap there!

Just window shopping for me on that visit Keith. It was Bank Holiday Monday. I think you would be pleasantly surprised at the interesting shops along Cheap Street. A lovely book shop and bakery!

Frome has become a very lively and arty town with lots of individual shops. Some of them last and some don't, but there always seems to be someone ready to replace them.
