Tottington Hall aka Montacute House.

Tottington Hall aka Montacute House.
Montacute House was the inspiration for Tottington Hall in the Aardman Animations film "The Curse of the Were-Rabbit" with, of course, Wallace & Gromit. This picture is the model used and is being displayed in Montacute House until November.

An interesting model, though I'll confess I know nothing about Wallace and Grommit. :-)

It is really well made. I haven't seen the films but Aardman Animation is based in Bristol so I hear quite a bit about them on the local news....and of course, they did win an Oscar!

Yes I agree Roger. They are very clever. When my children were young they liked Morph, which I think was one of their first popular animations.

That's an amazing model.................as of course are all the Aardman models. I remember the movie well too. Brilliant animation - totally wasted on children :-))

Very nicely captured as well Rosa.............I like the warm colours and the detail and sharpness is perfect. It must have been a really interesting exhibition.

It really was amazing to see Keith. My children used to like Morph, one of their first animations on TV....I think a lot of us adults enjoyed it too :)

It is so good that NT properties make it such fun for children nowadays. I have to say though, Sophie loves looking around the rooms and she had her picture taken with a Tudor gentleman!

Many thanks for your very nice comments and I wish you a good new week.

A very impressive building it looks quite a large model, reading your answer to Keith I think the NT are going to far in chasing children the properties are becoming theme parks, Belton House have stopped them playing in the formal gardens they can go in but no balls bikes scooters etc.
( there is a huge adventure playground which is very well done) You will have to take Sophie to Calke Abbey sometime it's unlike any NT property. I hope you have made a good start to September Rosalyn

It is a large model Peter. I can't agree with you about NT. I think it can only be good to get children interested in history, buildings and gardens. I only saw happy children enjoying their day. I think Calke Abbey is too far for me to take Sophie for the day, but I would quite like to visit it one day on a long weekend trip possibly. Yes a good start to September, and I hope the same for you.

The lighting on the model is quite sublime, Rosa; it emphasises the three dimensionalty. Cheers, Joe

Hi Rosa

I really like this photo

Superb colours and great composition, especially considering the circumstances..

It looks quite big, and I am sure it would make a great dolls house for some appreciative children ....

Best Wishes,
Peter
