A Walk into Town.

It seems much of your snow is gone, but the sunshine and blue skies make this a fairytale winter world! A challenging bit healthy job for postman Derek:-)

More snow in the town than the countryside Gudrun. Still about the same today. Derek had shorts on would you believe!! Thank you so much for your kind comments.

The pollarded trees look wonderful against that sky, Rosa. I did wish we'd had some proper snow, but then I looked on the Internet at the chaos caused and thought 'thank goodness it's not here in Shropshire'.

I pass the trees so often and always think they look lovely whether winter or summer. It's nice to see them come to life again in the spring though. I think Cornwall and Devon had the worst of the snow. Thankfully not too many problems on the roads around here.

Cracking shot of the gate and the trees Rosa, wonderful light. Nice shot of your postie going about his work, - the mail must get through! Most of our snow in the village is gone, but about 3 to 4 inches or so remains on the hills where the dogs go for exercise.

He's a good postie Doug :) The milkman didn't deliver on Friday and I can't say I blame him, but I had to walk to town to get some! Dogs seem to love their walks whatever the weather. Although, my dog hated snow! Thanks for your nice comments.

The roads were better than the pavements Peter! Goodness, 60 years ago when Buddy Holly died! It doesn't seem possible. Unfortunately I don't have any of his records....plenty of The Beatles though :-) Have a good week ahead.

I don't have a record had to make do with a CD !!! Paul McCartney owns all his songs so he will be making some more money with this recording of his songs with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra

Lovely shot Rosalyn, looks like a good walk on a cold sunny day. A nice cup of hot chocolate and a toasted teacake would be my priority in the nearest coffee shop when reaching town.

I recall that our postman in Pinner only ever wore shorts. I knew him from the pub and so I asked him one day and he said that he'd lost too many pairs of trousers to dogs AND CATS!!! But that they never went for his bare legs!
I have pondered on that ever since!

Oh, I will have to ask Derek about that. I do remember him saying once that wet legs were better than clinging wet trousers, but they do provide waterproof ones. Maybe they are just not so easy or comfortable to wear! Thank you for your great comments Andy.

A smashing series Rosa. In the main pic I love the shape of the pollarded trees and the light is gorgeous, especially the hint of pink in the sky.

Lots of the postmen.......and postwomen wear shorts all year round in our area! I think they get issued with weatherproof legs when they join up ;-))

I got the same email from Google, Rosa and you express my thoughts exactly, Rosa!! In fact I was momentarily seething when I remembered what they did to us!!
I never joined google + although for some reason Google assumed all pano members had joined (such is their vanity!); so I seemed to have had an honourary membership for a couple of years (totally unused).
No loss whatsoever!!

I felt the same Andy. I am so pleased that G+ has failed so spectacularly. Maybe they will listen to members in future!
