To be honest: I prefer the colour version (what beautiful reflections).

I love the sense of clam in these two images, Rosa. The reflection of the trees is quite magical. Cheers, Joe

It was calm once I reached the pond Joe, but a bit slippery on some of the footpaths! The reflections are always good on this pond, whatever the weather it seems. Thank you for your very kind comments. Cheers, Rosa.

Both really good Rosa. The B/W image has some lovely tones and I like the reflections of the trees, but I also prefer the colour version. It has some lovely detail in the foreground on the jetty (golden leaves and green moss) and the golden colour of the grasses and reeds is very nice indeed. The green patch behind the trees tops it all off very well.

Such a beautiful spot..!!

Thank you for your kind comments Keith. I don't do many b&w pictures and I can never decide whether I like them or not, so it is nice to get everyone's view. Believe it or not, it's quite a slog to get up to the pond, and I needed the exercise after the excesses of Christmas....so a few more good walks yet!!

Oh wow!! Both pictures are so wonderful. I like each version but I think the inset is my favorite for the rich but muted color palette and outstanding composition. The details are so pretty. NICE JOB!!!

Thank you for your kind comments Janet. It was a muted colour kind of day....and a bit of a slippery footpath on the way up to the pond, but worth it when there ;-))

Like others above I far prefer the colour version not just for the colours and delicacy but for the wider view too which is more balanced I think. Best wishes to you Rosa ~~~

Thanks Nick. The colour shot is winning at the moment :)
Best wishes ~ Rosa.

Rosa's pond.... I recognised it straight away... Both versions have their own merit .. and I like
them both equally..... All the best, John.

I thought you'd recognise it John ;-) The b&w shot is what happens when I can't access Ipernity and I have a little time on my hands! Very pleased you like them though. All the best ~ Rosa.

A charming place to have a walk, your lovely pond, Rosa! I'll go for the colour version for the golden tones of the plants and the green of the "hill". Reflections seem to be more vivid, too. But the mono version is atmospheric in its own way.

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Adele club
It's a 2½ mile, about 4km, round walk Adele. I haven't done it for a while, it's quite a steep climb to the pond. Thank you for your lovely comments on both shots.

A lovely pair of images Rosalyn, I,m not a big fan of B&W (did that when it was the only option ) but it does work very well sometimes, with the lack of leaves the pattern of the branches is the main thing and strong image of the jetty leads your eye into the picture

I like other peoples b&w shots but not my own very often :) Thanks for your kind comments on both pic's. The pond always seems to give good reflections, whatever the weather.

Hi Rosa,

A really nice pair of images, and the monochrome one works really well for me! The lack of colour says "Cold and frosty" in a very loud voice! I do like the composition in the colour one, an air of calm over the land.. I like them!

Best Wishes
Peter

Hi Peter,

I'm pleased you like the b&w shot. I can never tell myself :) The frost had gone but it was rather cold. It is one of my favourite local walks. I have never seen another person at the pond!

Best wishes, Rosa.

I too like both but prefer the colour!
I have the same problem again with not being able to sign in (I use another laptop for uploading photos from my external hard drive - a long story but I have to do it this way! - and I have to sign in each time. On this laptop I am permanently signed in but can't upload!).
I wonder how many others are affected again? And how would we know unless they use their mobiles to advise? I can see no other reports on the IMA page. :o(

The colour one is the winner I think Andy.
So sorry to hear you are getting problems now. I see that was 12 hours ago, so I hope it is resolved now. It is quite handy to look on their FB page and if you join the group, I find you get answers to any query fairly quickly.

Two lovely images that individually would stand up well, Rosa. If asked for a choice though, I'll also go for the colour version.

Like them both, for me, I might have changed the B&W version a little to include a bit more of the main tree above the shore line, but both nice images Rosa.

Rosalyn Hilborne club has replied to Roger Dodger club
Thank you Roger. I think I cut it short because the sky was too white, but it would look better with more of the tree I agree.

Nice images Rosa, I have a personal preference for the pip mainly because of the composition and the colour on the jetty, on the other hand the main image is considerably more dramatic and has wonderful reflections.

Many thanks for your kind comments Roger. I think the colour picture is the winner between these two ;-))
