IT MOST CERTAINLY IS THE DOMINANT TREE IN OUR YARD - OUR NEIGHBORS HAVE SAID IT WAS PROBABLY 5FT TALL WHEN PLANTED ..

I adore crepe myrtles. They will not grow outside where I live, so I have some in pots that bring inside during the winter. Alas, the growing season is too short and they half-heartedly flower, but still, they are a joy to behold.

WE DO ALSO -- THESE ARE 3 PLANTED YEARS AGO. NOT SURE HOW TALL THEY GET, BUT HAVE PROBABLY REACHED THE MAX OR AT LEAST CLOSE TO IT.
WE HAD A MUCH SMALLER ONE IN FLORIDA THAT MR C TRIMMED AND SHAPED YEARLY AS IT WAS CLOSE TO OUR HOME - BUT AS LONG AS IT WAS HEALTHY, IT WOULD REMAIN.
A FEW YEARS LATER, WE ADDED A LAVENDER ONE AND ALSO A RED ONE.
SPEAKING OF SHORT SEASONS, I CHECKED WITH A LOCAL NURSERY HERE ABOUT HIBISCUS THEY HAD IN STOCK. IN FLORIDA THEY WERE OUTSIDE AND BLOOMED SEVERAL MONTHS OF THE YEAR -- HERE IN N,C., THEY WOULD BE IN POTS AND BROUGHT INSIDE DURING THE COOL MONTHS.
THAT WOULDN'T WORK -- ANY PLANT THAT ENTERS OUR HOME -- I MANAGE TO KILL.

I water mine once a week indoors. That seems to tide them over until spring.

MY DEAR LADY -- YOU MUST HAVE A 'GREEN THUMB'. CAN'T EVEN KEEP A CACTUS ALIVE!

ONE COMPANY WHERE I WORKED IN FLORIDA ALWAYS GAVE EMPLOYEES A POINSETTIA FOR CHRISTMAS - THEY ALWAYS DIED. FOUND A LADY WHO WOLD ADOPT THEM BEFORE I MANAGED TO KILL THEM - I HAD VISITING PRIVILEDGES-- SHE DID WONDERS WITH THEM!

GO FIGURE!
