OUR MEGALOPOLIS

OUR MEGALOPOLIS
Our megalopolis
Of cars, concrete, sewer pipes laid beneath the streets, cars rolling on four black tires
Of cars which seemingly of their own volition stream like insects into the city or through the city streets after which to crawl back to their nets
To rest on a concrete pad
Ensconced in a garage, resting with roof, walls, an elaborate door
(A television or computer screen going nearby
Casting its blue lights
Like a blue potion pooling inside a room
With some marble countertops and food contained in plastic packaging)
Our cars cleaned on the inside or not cleaned in the inside
A shock of minute emergencies piled up into accumulated messes of snacks, documents, trash, jackets, pennies, paint samples, school work, old mail, and an empty cup
Our cars like cups swiftly contain us and carry us througout the city where
I'd like to walk up the streets of my own volition and fall into the other's eyes

A NOSSA MEGALÓPOLE

A nossa megalópole
