USELESS POEM WITH MOUNTAIN

I see the mountain landed in front of me
On the evergreen water, and I think of the uselessness
Of everything she is, and the futility of thinking about it.
When a useless thought suggests to me
That the mountain may be
A detail thought by herself
In the landscape of my own thinking, in order
To make me think about thoughts,
And not about mountains, remaining her, like before,
Landed on the evergreen water, without being
Thought by nobody.

POEMA INÚTIL COM MONTANHA

Vejo a montanha à minha frente pousada
Sobre a água sempre verde, e penso na inutilidade
De tudo o que ela é, e na inutilidade de estar pensando nisto.
Quando um pensamento inútil me sugere
Que a montanha pode ser
Um pormenor pensado por ela
Na paisagem do meu próprio pensamento, para
Com isto me levar a pensar sobre pensamentos,
E não sobre montanhas, ficando ela, como antes,
Pousada na água sempre verde, sem ser
Pensada por ninguém.
