If only there was a need!

If only there was a need!
It may not be totally obvious, but this burnt roadside sign in the scorched landscape reads "REDUCE SPEED WHEN WET". I think everyone here would be delighted if there was enough rain to make this relevant! :-) In the PiP, an image of some of the damage to timber shops in the tourist village of Mogo - too depressing to add more.

Gudrun, Fred Fouarge, Ecobird, and 22 other people have particularly liked this photo

...absolutely shocking, George. Having lived in California for a few years, I have seen some fires, but this is unprecedented.

This must be such a depressing time for everyone. Surrounded by so much destruction. So much lost. I was reading about traditional Aboriginal methods of controlling bush fires this morning and how they might be able to play more of a part. We all need to do what we can to mitigate such events. Here with increasing floods it’s tree planting and rewilding that are being talked about.

We went through an area badly hit by wildfires several years ago and started taking photos but finally gave it up. It was too depressing and we felt peoples' loss too keenly. This is worse than anything I've seen.
