Hi Andy, I have just seen your reply to a previous comment of mine. I hope your parents are doing well. Sadly, my parents have both passed away, but I remember what a worry it was when they were ill. A shame you cannot drive in the UK now :-(

Thank you, Rosa. It's got stranger! I found that I am eligible to drive here. I forgot that my British driving license still has my Cornish address on it from when I lived with my parents and that makes me OK to drive! So I promptly put myself on the insurance, drove the car to do a few errands and then my mum drove when we went to visit my Dad on that afternoon. Unfortunately we had a minor prang on the way back - no-one hurt - but the car will be out of action for my entire stay! Back to square one!

Good news about the driving licence....not so good about the prang!!
You couldn't make it up could you!!

So much history, so many personal stories. Interesting to see. Looking at photos in the UK, always makes me want to go back for a visit.
Reading your comments, sorry that you are car-less again. Logistics must be difficult.

Even stranger, Eunice. I found out that because my driving licence never lost my parent's address as my own, I am legally permitted to drive in the UK. So I put myself on the insurance and drove here and there on various errands. Unfortunnately, on the return from seeing my dad in hospital my mum had a bit of a prang so the car is now at the garage and won't be back until after I've returned to Spain. C'est la vie'!

Interesting - and it looks so lonely out there. You must be an Honorary Commando by now, Andy!

Guess what - I've just about completely recovered from Covid! Have no idea where I got it, but probably just walked by someone who was - heavens! - breathing. I wear a mask when I'm out, so...? Well, Omicron Covid + vaccines were a good combo. I mostly slept through it for about four days, never a fever, no other symptoms but slight congestion and heavy weakness. Then felt progressively better and am pretty normal (ahem!) by now. Leftover symptoms: low appetite, dingbat brain and somewhat wobbly gait. Home test now shows a weird pale grey smudge, like the little man in there is trying to decide...

Something adorable: My grandson heard I was sick and he came to my open screen door to talk to me. He kept telling me he loved me. I think he thought I might die. We're very close and he's one person I can count of to miss me when I'm gone. ;-)

Pleased your Covid was of the less severe variety. Believe me you don't want it any worse. I still wear a mask when out; no choice; I have so many co-morbidities that I am immune- compromised to the nth degree!

Thank you, Adele. Yes, much better but still some way to go! I was allowed to visit my parents at last. My oncologist advised against it for a long time due to the risk of contracting covid again but he finally OK'd it.
