Yes, I do ... couldn't tell you the names of many pieces of Classical music, but growing up -- Classical Music [ per my Dad ] was the only music in the house !
I would hide my Rock and Roll records before he got home from work !

That's uncanny because I did the same. I had a classical musical training (piano - I'm qualified to teach although I can no longer play, it's not like riding a bike!), then discovered everything else in my teens and, like you, hid my precious albums from my Dad! In the end it all settled down as I came to terms with a love of music in general! My Dad is a fan of jazz and blues and I discovered this after I was 30. Sad or what!
We laugh about these nonsenses now and I can play him Janis Joplin or Amy Whitehouse and he certainly appreciates the quality of the vocals and he feels free to play me a recording of a relatively obscure 19th century English composer from The Proms. And we discuss these things freely which is how it should be. I just wish it could have been this way 45 years ago! But at least it worked out in the end!
