Docklands and benches
The Yarra River in Melbourne was once the main ship docking area, with wharves and low warehouses (see previous image). The shipping now has been moved to the far distance in the main image and the old dock area has been redeveloped as "Docklands" with apartments and offices. See notes for details of the benches.

Many old dock areas are being developed to accommodate living areas and places of pleasure and recreation. I see it in Dundee and Cardiff in particular, and mostly it's an improvement on what was there before, but much of the history has been lost in the process, unfortunately.
