How beautiful and serene this place looks. I have never been anywhere far north or south so all of this is so interesting to me. Thank you for sharing your adventures and pictures with us--I don't know if you realize what an impact you have had on me since I've known you, George. My information about Antarctica all focuses on the pictures and stories you've shared. I learned about ozzie outlaws from you and their adventures and eventual capture, etc. You take me on your trips and I have so enjoyed all of the images and tales that go with them. Lucky indeed am I to have crossed paths with you! :)

Oh my, you will have to tell me about your "flying helicoptor" mozzies story! As it is, the mosquitoes at Diamond Lake were twice the size of the smaller, faster ones we have at home. Also, though the Diamond Lake ones were much more blood-thirsty, their bites weren't nearly as toxic (to me, anyway). All in all, we did ok! :)

BTW, I considered MANY TIMES, the idea of a macro showing these nasty creatures at work. Couldn't do it! Besides, I'd be banned for life from ipernity for sharing such hideous photography! :D
