SSC - mementos

The story has many layers, but as simply as I can, my mother gave me a string of pearls when I was young. I loved them and wore them quite a bit. But one day they were stollen from my home. My mother replaced them. Then I wore them all the time - when I got married, when I went to the grocery store, when I was nursing my babies and they held and fiddled with them. Many of them wore out, the string broke more than once. I restrung them, I paid to have them restrung. My husband replaced the worn out pearls, and now once again I wear them almost all the time. They are my treasure.
