A wonderful mystical image Laura, I have an ensign box camera but it takes a film that is no longer available although i think there is one that can be adapted. My recent posts have been taken using an old lens a Helios 44 2 made in the USSR in 1973 they have become popular because only a simple adapter is needed to use them on mirrorless cameras, it's known for it's swirly bokeh but I have micro four thirds which doesn't produce it :((

Thank you, Peter. It's so much fun to play with old cameras - we have a place in Portland that will put film on old spools for you. But even they can't do everything.

You could put word or two in keywords on your photos, to show what camera and lens you used. If you wanted.

Looks quiet ghostly, I had similar results trying pinhole using Cokin filters during lockdown but couldn't get to grips with it.

I love pinhole cameras! I haven't used one in quite some time. I still have the one I first used - one my mom made before I was born.

Something very different and and excellent photo, Laura. I think it's a good thing to try something different and unusual. Otherwise one tends to get in a rut. Perhaps I need to try something like this.

Thanks so much. I'm really glad you like it. I take photos like this as I'm inspired, but don't share them as often as the 'accepted' type photo. I really do enjoy emotional art, and things like this seem more like that to me - more about color, texture, composition than about what it's a picture of.

I think you could really do well at it. You have a really good eye. Have you ever done b&w for any extended period of time? I think it's really hard in nature (really have no idea how Ansel Adams did it!), but doing it can start to take one a bit away from subject matter and more towards feeling and sensation. Then of course there's shallow depths of field, low light (which can be found even in the sun by finding the small shadow areas) and focusing on hues that are great to work with.

Have you looked at my personal group 'pure art' www.ipernity.com/group/2410700 ? It's full of other people's photos here that I put in this type category. Even the in focus, straight photos are more about the emotion or the composition than the subject specifically.
