I THOUGHT I KNEW THE MEANING OF LOVE
|
|
|
|
Love is the sun's blood inside the sun. Innocence one thousand times repeated in the sincere will of desiring the sky comprehension. Fragile and delicate storms arise from the vegetal breathing of love. As a plant growing from the ground. Love is the sunlight drinking the sweet voice of such a plant. Something inside of anything thoughtful. Love is the meaning of impossible words. Going through the inside of a mountain. Running by the world's original hours. Love is the fresh peace and the combustion of a fire within, within, within, within, days within. In each morning's moment, the sky glides as a river. In the afternoon, the sun as a certainty. Love is made of sea, waves in the ocean's distance and eternal sand. Love is made of too many opposite and true things. Places for love are born and, in these ethereal gardens, salvation is a breeze gently falling on the face.

EU PENSAVA QUE CONHECIA O SIGNIFICADO DO AMOR
O amor é o sangue do sol dentro do sol. A inocência repetida mil vezes na vontade sincera de desejar que o céu compreenda. Levantam-se tempestades frágeis e delicadas na vegetal respiração do amor. Como uma planta a crescer da terra. O amor é a luz do sol a beber a voz doce dessa planta.

Leaving these unloved rooms
The dark is welcome to,
Leaving these dark blue
Shadowy walls
Leaving softly, slowly through
Unlocked doors, and there!
Toys beyond repair
Torturing the floor
Leaving empty every chair
Because it must be right
To forfeit "if" and "might"
Then hurry off
Leaving before daylight
Toppless across the bed,
Even before my head
Gives up its dreams.

Deixar estes mal amados quartos,
A escuridão é bem-vinda para tal,
Deixar estas paredes sombrias
De azul escuro
Partir suavemente, lentamente através
Das portas abertas, e lá!,
Brinquedos sem reparação
Atormentam o chão
Deixar todas as cadeiras vazias
Porque assim deve ser
Perder-me
Apressadamente
Partir antes que o dia nasça
Em topless sobre a cama
Sem que minha cabeça
Desista de sonhar.

IN CASE OF FIRE
|
|
|
|
Back burn.
This will stop the real flames
from gaining on you.
Choose the river
as your firebreak.
Bulldoze a clearing
to be safe.
Set ablaze
everything
in its path
that could feed it.
Then rest
in the knowledge
that someplace
in all that heat
natural and instigated
somewhere in the smoke
between winning and losing
there is a sequoia seed waiting
to crack and germinate in ash.

EM CASO DE INCÊNDIO
Queimada.
Isto impedirá as verdadeiras chamas
de te atingirem.
Escolhe o rio
como teu quebra fogos.
Abre uma clareira
para ficares seguro.
Incendeia
no seu trilho
tudo
o que possa alimentá-la.
Depois descansa
na convicção
de que nalgum lugar
com todo esse calor
natural ou provocado
entre perder e ganhar
há uma semente de sequóia à espera
de rachar e germinar na cinza.

HIGH-WIRE
|
|
|
|
Watch me juggle
as I walk across the high-wire
and turn into a dove as I fall from the sky
watch me reappear from a black top-hat
under water
as I wriggle out of straight-jacket and chains
watch me levitate
back to the wire
watch me juggle the twenty volumes of the Encyclopedia Britannica
as I balance Proust on my head
and begin to answer "The 39 Steps is an organisation of spies, collecting information on behalf of the Foreign Office of..."
watch me crumple
listen to my dying breaths
whispering of Stealth designs

CORDA BAMBA
Observa o meu equilíbrio
quando caminho na corda bamba
e me transformo em pomba a cair do céu
observa-me a reaparecer de uma cartola preta
e como me liberto da camisa de forças e das cadeias
debaixo de água
observa-me a levitar
observa-me a desmoronar
e ouve a minha última respiração
a sussurrar projectos de invisibilidade
