Waiting in a winter wonderland

Taken during a three-hour bird walk from Bebo Grove to Shannon Terrace, Fish Creek Park, with friends yesterday, 29 October 2013. Only 10 species of bird were found, which is very quiet. Two days earlier, we had our first snowfall of the season in the city. Monday and Tuesday were both beautiful, sunny days and it was indeed a winter wonderland with the snow-covered bushes and trees. The morning started off at -11C, but had warmed up to 0C by the time we got back to our cars.
