Not a thing was untouched

Not a thing was untouched
Today is the second day after our first snowfall in the city this season. We had several inches of the white stuff all day Sunday (27 October 2013). That was definitely a day to stay home. Stayed home all day yesterday, Monday, too - couldn't face clearing the snow and ice off my vehicle. Today, however, I finally got out for a three-hour walk in Fish Creek Park, Bebo Grove to Shannon Terrace and back. Started off pretty cold, but the sun was shining and the snow-covered trees in the forest looked beautiful. There was just a tiny bit of ice along parts of the edge of the creek. Not sure where all the birds were - we only saw 10 species, that included everyday birds such as Black-capped Chickadees, Ravens, Red-breasted Nuthatch. A Pileated Woodpecker flew overhead along the creek, but we weren't able to find it on any tree. Five Mule Deer were out in the snow, feeding on the dry, snow-covered twigs and leaves. A very enjoyable walk, despite the lack of birds and being dressed in hat, fleece jacket, fleece vest, thick winter jacket, two pairs of gloves, long-johns, jeans, winter boots and thick winter socks. Roll on spring, lol!!!

Now, Art, I wonder what you think is so funny. Couldn't possibly be the fact that WE have had snow and you haven't - yet : ))
