Sunrise Madrid
Living in an east-facing flat near the top of a high-rise block in 2012/13, I saw lots of sunrises - all very different from each other!

Bonne soirée.
Andy Rodker club has replied to JeanI suspect there had been more than usual volcanic activity in the previous year or two and this can give spectacular sunrises and sunsets as the volcanic dust suspended in the atmosphere can cloud the skies and diffuse sunlight.

Andy Rodker club has replied to Joe, Son of the Rock clubA very nice and spectacular sunrise
Fantastic colours
It looks like there may be quite a few particles of something (rain, smoke, dust..) in the air to give those reflections.
Best Wishes, and stay safe!!

Andy Rodker club has replied to Peter_Private_Box clubA couple of years before there had been that Icelandic eruption that stopped flights for a few weeks and then one or two in Indonesia and/or Malaysia that made the headlines. Just guessing ...
Turner painted some spectacular sunsets after Tambora erupted in 1815 in Indonesia. This was the was the most devastating eruption of modern times and led to the "Year without a summer" and widespread starvation around the world as the volcanic dust blocked out the sunlight.
I am thinking ... that was devastating. this Pandemic is devastating. We recovered from and forgot about Tambora ... perhaps a good omen for the future?
Many thanks, Peter and all good wishes to you!
